This guide is designed to help voice students access resources in various formats that support learning and research in the area of vocal studies, including vocal performance, vocal pedagogy, and opera studies. The specific materials illustrated in this LIbGuide are designed to increase awareness of the various kinds and types of resources available to aid in vocal studies mastery and do not constitute an exhaustive list. They have been selected as a representative sampling designed to help get you started in your lesson and performance preparation and background research.
At Butler, a librarian with appropriate expertise and interest is assigned to be a liaison to each of the major subject areas taught at the University. Sheri Stormes is the liaison to Butler's School of Music. She also has taught courses in the area of singer's diction.
Sheri is responsible for ordering materials and answering reference and research questions rrelating to vocal studies and for providing instruction relating to the discovery, evaluation, and use of vocal and other music-related materials in the Butler Libraries and elsewhere.
Sheri is available to assist you with music research and other questions relating to the library from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
