Databases

Here are some of the subscription databases that may prove useful for finding travel-related information.  They include journals, newspapers, and general reference sources.  Because of the broad focus of this class, you will want to use more general terms like tourism, travel, travelers.  You will also want to limit your searches by adding the names of countries, regions, cities, or culture groups.  And based on your topic, you may want to include search terms that reflect things like gender and orientation, economy, ecology, sports, medicine, education, arts, religion, etc.  Remember that when you start finding articles that are specific to your topic, note the name of the author and the controlled vocabulary that database uses.  This will lead you to other similar articles.  Also look at the bibliographies of articles for further helpful books, articles, websites, etc. cited by the author.
