This LibGuide is designed to introduce the first-year Butler student to basic resources related to topics covered in FYS 101 25 Spellbound: the Quest for Magic in Speculative Fiction and the Arts.

The Butler Libraries seek to provide resources in various formats that support learning and research in the disciplines and courses taught at Butler. This guide is designed to help make you, the user, more aware of the various kinds and types of resources available to you. The resources on this guide do not constitute an exhaustive list. They have been selected as a representative sampling designed to help get you started in your research on aspects of the topics covered in this First-Year Seminar.
At Butler, a librarian with appropriate expertise and interest is assigned to be a liaison to each of the major subject areas taught at the University. Sheri Stormes is the liaison to Butler's Jordan College of the Arts and the various disciplines housed in that College. She is responsible for ordering materials and answering reference and research questions rrelating to Art + Design, Arts Administration, Dance, Music, and Theatre and for providing instruction relating to the discovery, evaluation, and use of materials related to these disciplines in the Butler Libraries and elsewhere.
Sheri is available to assist you with research and other questions relating to the library from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Her office is Room 119B on the main floor of the Irwin Library. Additional contact information is available in the box to the right of this one.
