INDIANAPOLIS PUBLIC LIBRARY

Public library systems are fantastic ways to get access to a lot of print and online materials.

INDIANA STATE LIBRARY

You have resources available to you as a resident of the state of Indiana!

NEARBY COLLEGE & UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES

Many colleges and universities (especially ones that are publicly-funded) offer some access to their collections if you are able to visit.

Quality Sources via Web Searches

LIBRARY & MUSEUM COLLECTIONS ONLINE

More and more content is being digitized and put online for all to view, and the majority of these can be discovered via a simple web search. Here are a handful of collections you may find interesting to explore.

GOVERNMENT & ORGANIZATIONAL WEBSITES

Your federal, state, and local governments gather immense amounts of data about a number of things: population, economy, etc. Similarly, a number of organizations have established reputations for being trusted information sources. You can find these websites via a Google search and you can even make Google search for them specifically (site:.gov or site:.org after your search terms).

However -- and it's a big however -- please think critically about any source that you find, especially via the open web. Is its information factual? Cited? Who's creating it and why? Is there any bias present? Information left out? Is it up-to-date? Why should you trust and include this source over others?
