Opium Wars

This is a great video that provides a lot of quick information about The Opium War.  It goes through and gives a detailed background of how and why it began.  It also goes on to detail all of the events and battles that occurred throughout the duration of the war.  The information comes straight from History, and is very well researched.  It is interesting to watch and is a great place to start when researching the history of 19th century China.

China, the cake of Kings and Emperors

Detailed overview on the Taiping Rebellion and how it failed to overthrow the Qing Dynasty. The 14 years of war that lead to the death of 20 million people.The video is fill with information and images of the time of the war. Lots of information in a relatively short video.

The video above gives quick synopsis of what happened in the 18th and 19th Century and how the country suffered loss from territory, and invasion from powers that had previously been inferior to China.  After the Invasions there were several uprisings and revolutions.
