Storytelling Tools

Check out 2015's most popular digital storytelling tools!

Tools included:

The Information Commons Desk has iPads and Camcorders that you can check out! These items check out for 7-day loan periods.

When deciding whether you want to record or use either of these devices think about your project and the benefits of both.

Benefits of the iPad:

  • May be easier to use if you are familiar with Apple products
  • Can take video and pictures
  • Can upload and edit your video directly on the iPad

Benefits of the Camcorder:

  • Could utilize a tripod for stable recording
  • Can set a timer
  • Handles large file sizes and long videos

The labs across campus provide access to lots of software that may be helpful for your project. Here's the standard list of software available in Butler labs.

Additionally, the Rich Media Center at the Library has a Wacom tablet  that allows you to convert drawing by hand into the online environment. The Wacom tablet is located on the first table in the Rich Media area. This tablet comes with an interactive pen (located at the Information Commons desk) that allows the user to edit images or draw/write and project it on the computer screen.
