CIC Information Fluency Lunch 'N Learn: A Role for Everyone!

This guide will act as an outline for the CIC Information Fluency Development Grant Lunch 'N Learn sessions with Jordan College of the Arts' departments

Library Roles

  • Campaign for information fluency
  • Purchase & manage electronic databases
  • Suggest all-college standards
  • Train all students (Just in Time)
  • Train faculty & staff
  • Certify information fluency

Faculty Roles

  • Define information fluency "minimums for discipline"
  • Set policies/parameters for the use of technology
  • Teach assuming "information fluency"
  • Judge the wisdom of a requirement
  • Campaign for adequate funding (as necessary)
  • Monitor the "quality" of fluency training

  • Research & recommend hardware and software
  • Choose "back office" components
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure
