What is a Fish out of Water?

A fish out of water is an idiom used to refer to a person who is stuck in a unknown place or time, and since the inception of film, this concept has been in the film canon. There have been many tales of fish out of water, told in many different ways. There are those who end up in a place they are unfamiliar with, like New York or Beverly Hills, and then there are those who are transported to another world, or maybe even the future or the past!
