Butler University's Center for Academic Technology and Libraries received a $12,000 Private Academic Library Network of Indiana (PALNI) Innovation Grant to develop an open repository of peer-reviewed generative AI class activities where faculty can search for ideas for how to use AI in their discipline.
All faculty from the 24 PALNI institutions are eligible to participate. Faculty who submit and revise an AI class activity will be eligible for stipends if they meet various deadlines.
This information session will provide more indepth explanation of the grant, the resources available to faculty, and the submission and review process.

Open textbooks can help alleviate the burden of textbook costs for students and provide faculty with content that can be customized for their course. Open textbooks are full, real textbooks, used by many faculty across the country, and licensed to be freely used, edited, and distributed.
Attend the Open Textbook Webinar— a session where you can discover open textbooks in your field. After the workshop, you’ll be asked to write a short review of an open textbook from the Open Textbook Library. Your review will benefit other faculty considering open textbooks, and you will receive a stipend of $200.
We will also be discussing the PALSave Course Redesign Grant, an funded initivative to help faculty redesign their commerically used textbook to an OER based class!
The Butler University Faculty Senate adopted an open access policy on April 28, 2020. This policy shows Butler University’s commitment to disseminating the fruits of research and scholarship as widely as possible. Open access policies increase authors’ rights, readership and citation rates for scholarly articles. The opt out provision ensures that all faculty authors have the freedom to publish in the journal of their choice. Join us to learn more about the policy and your rights as an author when you're submitting for publication.
