Disney College Programs and Internships: Termination, Time Off, and Points

Your guide to Butler and Disney College Programs and Internships!
Termination, Time Off, and Points by Sarah Braunstein

Time Off

Disney College Program members have a very limited amount of days than can request off. They may only request one day off per month they are enrolled in the program, so if your program is 4 months long, you may request 4 days off; however:

  • Requested days off are never guaranteed and are highly dependent upon scheduling needs, reason, and request date.
  • Disney will not grant requests for time off prior to the start of your program.
  • Your full availability is expected for the entire duration of the program.

To request time off, you must utilize the HUB portal, which you will not have access to until you attend Disney Traditions.

Attendance Policy

Disney has a very strict attendance policy that expects its employees to be fully available. The attendance policy includes the following:

  • A participant's absences cannot exceed 10 consecutive workdays, nor 14 consecutive days. Participants with absences exceeding 10 work days will be separated as a a break program/restricted rehire.
  • All absence in which a Cast Member follows the calling in process will be designated as a Call-In or Call-sick.
  • Attendance and clocking discipline progression states that there are three reprimands prior to termination. Termination should occur on the fourth reprimand.
  • Policy and Procedures (behavior) discipline states two reprimands can be issued, and termination occurs on the third.
  • Clocking, attendance, and disciplinary reprimands are never combined.

Absenteeism Standard

*Note: Each absence will be noted as a separate point on the Cast Member's Records.

*Note: Tardiness of less than two hours is 1/2 point, more than two hours is a full point.

  • 3 Points within 30 Days = 1 Reprimand
  • 6 Points within 90 Days = 2 Reprimands
  • 9 Points within 180 Days = 3 Reprimands
  • 12 Points within 365 Days = 4 Reprimands and Termed

Points DO NOT disappear from your employment record.

  • Playing Hooky and Going to the Parks
  • Showing Up Late (See Attendance Policy)
  • Being in another Disney Housing Complex Past Curfew: If you are caught in a housing complex that is the one you live in between 2am and 7am, you will be termed.
  • Harassing or photographing celebrities you might see while you’re working: You are not allowed to shake their hands, point out who they are, or call them by name.
