GHS 211: Modern Middle East and North Africa: Home

A guide about researching countries and peoples from the Modern Middle East and North Africa.

About this Guide

This guide provides various scholarly resources for the study of the Middle East. It's scope, geographically, includes those areas of the Middle East and North Africa that are dominated by the languages of Arabic, Turkish and Persian (Farsi). Temporally, this guide treats this region from the time of the Arab/Muslim conquests of the mid-7th century CE to the present. It aims to cover resources available at Butler that are both from the region and about the region within these spatial and temporal frames.
