This guide is meant to help you develop the skills and tools to accomplish your course objectives:

  1. To examine and reshape this long-accepted narrative of the American period
  2. To examine the question: Whose America was it?
  3. To examine diverse perspectives of those who lived during a chosen American period.
  4. To develop knowledge about historical moments, peoples, and places; and to appreciate the relationship between the past and the present.
  5. To continue development of expository writing skills.
