Classical Bassoon Description Page This site contains all kinds of useful information relating to the history and repertoire of the bassoon, reed-making, bassoon construction, bassoon technique, and the use of the bassoon in ensembles.
IDRS (International Double Reed Society) This is the official website of the Internat'l. Double Reed Society. It is is the most comprehensive site dedicated to the dissemination of information related directly to double reed performance, pedagogy, and research. The IDRS.org project is supported, in part, by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts, and the University of Colorado, College of Music.

Orchestral Bassoon: A Digital Resource for Bassoonists This site focuses on the history, performance, and pedagogy of the instrument's most prominent orchestral excerpts. It is the final research project for a Doctor of Music degree from Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, and the culmination of three years of intensive research and design. The author is Brett Van Gansbeke recently completed his Doctor of Music degree from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, with minors in Music Theory and Early Music.
Paula Brusky, PhD. Paula Brusky is the founding director of the Bassoon Chamber Music Composition Competition, Inc. (BCMCC), an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, and a Research Affiliate at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music-University of Sydney. Brusky was the first candidate awarded a PhD in Performance from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music after winning the Endeavor International Postgraduate Research Scholarship. Brusky’s dissertation included the most comprehensive study to date of injuries in bassoon players and her subsequent research into injury prevention for musicians has made her a sought after guest lecturer.
