Mission
Butler University Libraries' Digital Scholarship Lab is dedicated to the digital conversion and preservation of physical materials. The Lab hosts a collaborative space where relevant technologies and resources promote and empower a community of practice at the intersection of scholarship and digitization.
History
While digitization activities were supported in name at Butler University Libraries (think: photocopiers), dedicated resources were collected in 2018 by students and faculty interested in using technology to enhance research projects and create new knowledge. Initially guided by digital humanities research, the Digital Scholarship Lab now supports digital conversion and preservation needs for all Butler community members.
The Lab was first established on the first floor of Irwin Library in 2018.
We collaborate with instructors to incorporate digital preservation into curricular activities. Grounded in the digital preservation of Butler's Special Collections, Rare Books and University Archives, our doors are open for your ideas!
