All About eBooks: WorldCat Discovery

All Butler eBooks are accessible via WorldCat Discovery, so we recommend it as the place to get started with your eBook search. 

Ebooks should be identified with an icon. 

WorldCat Discovery includes items that Butler Libraries do not have access to. In order for you to be able to access an eBook, the record must show that the item is "Held by" Butler University Libraries:

If the record says the item is held by WorldCat, PALNI, or anybody else, you will not have access to it. In these situations, you may contact Butler Libraries to see what other options for access are available. While you can make an interlibrary loan request from an eBook in WorldCat Discovery, it will be sent to you as a physical book (libraries are not allowed to send electronic copies of eBooks).

To view an eBook, click on the View eBook option. This will link you out to the title.

The process for viewing and downloading eBooks varies from provider to provider. Directions for our largest providers are listed here; select your provider from the tabs above. If you don't see your provider listed, or have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact Butler Libraries.
