Resources for Country Project

The databases will provide information on multiple country research topics.  Use them to find country profiles, scholarly and popular articles, statistics, and more.

TIPS:

  • The first time you access the Passport database you will be asked to click through some screens and review some terms of agreement.  This is required by the database provider.  For help with the login process, see the video linked below.
  • For additional resources not linked on this guide, see the International Business LibGuide, or search Worldcat (Library catalog) to find books and more about your country.

Provide information about your country on the topic of Location.  Some examples include geographic size, remoteness, water (any ports?) or land locked (what are the transportation links?), surrounding countries, etc.

Provide information about your country on the topic of Culture.  Some examples include languages, ethnicities, values, norms, negotiation patterns, decision making styles, ethical practices, etc.

Provide information about your country on the topic of Political/Legal. Some examples include political systems, political risk, laws/regulations toward foreign firms, corruption, level of government intervention, etc.

Provide information about your country on the topic of Administrative.  Consider regional trading blocs and ease of doing business topics.

Provide information about your country on the topic of Economic.  Here you want to discuss economic freedom and currency risk. Consider everything from cost or quality of natural resources, financial resources, human resources, infrastructure, information or knowledge, as well as GDP and other economic factors.
