Interlibrary Loan:
If Butler does not have the book, chapter, or article that you need, there are options available. For detailed information, including how to file a request, make renewals, and more, please visit the Interlibrary Loan page.
For all ILL questions contact Sarah Damery at 317-940-9677 or sdamery@butler.edu.
PALShare: PALShare is a speedy loan service between PALNI (Private Academic Library Network of Indiana) libraries, with whom Butler shares its WorldCat Discovery catalog. Since items ordered through this service typically will arrive within a few days, the “Request” button in our WorldCat Discovery catalog will route you to a PALShare request if possible.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL): This is a service where libraries borrow and lend to each other on behalf of their patrons. It allows you to request books or electronic documents (like .pdfs of book chapters or journal articles) that are held by another library. Requests are submitted through the WorldCat Discovery catalog, just like with PALShare. You can request material from any library in the world.
ALI Borrowing: Butler users may also borrow materials in-person at other Academic Libraries of Indiana (ALI) partner institutions—see the ALI brochure for more information.
