Keep Calm and Study On: Academic Resources

LibGuide serves as a platform to support Butler University students, faculty and staff during remote learning through a variety of resources to engage students academically and socially.

Resources

Textbooks and Academic Resources: Did you bring all of your textbooks home for Spring Break? We didn't either. Many publishers, libraries, and databases are offering free access to their resources.

  • Internet Archive: A resource offering a collection of books that supports emergency remote teaching, research endeavors, and scholarly activities. Books in the archive y are available to one borrower at a time. Borrowers must create a login using their Butler credentials in order to access these materials.

  • Project MUSE: A collective that produces high-quality books and journals in the humanities and social sciences, involving over 200 of the world’s most distinguished university presses and scholarly societies.

    • Learn more about open access books, journals, and digital humanities works that are freely available.

  • RedShelf: Purchase online editions of your textbooks and use RedShelf to highlight text, build study guides, have text read aloud, and define unfamiliar words.

Important Curriculum and Grading Updates

Many changes and updates to graduation and enrollment requirements can be found on Butler University's website. These changes include:

Butler Cultural Requirements: The BCR requirement has been waived for those graduating in May 2020 and August 2020. The requirement will remain in place for December 2020 graduates and beyond.

Indianapolis Community Requirement: Most spring 2021 ICR-related coursework and community-based experience will be virtual rater than face-to-face. Students who complete ICR work as defined in their respective course syllabus will earn credit for the ICR.
