Fostering a place where all members of the Butler community have a sense of belonging, enhancing the learning of oneself and others, and the development of intercultural competence.

Butler's licensed and professionally trained staff offers counseling services to all currently enrolled students. Counseling and Consultation Services strives to provide students with the support and resources they need to help them achieve their personal and academic goals and enhance their experience while in college.

Butler University Health Services provides health care to students currently enrolled in the University. We place an emphasis on treating the medical, emotional, and educational needs of our students. Our primary goal is to have students leave the clinic not only feeling better but also being better informed about their condition and how to provide self-care. Our focus is to keep Butler students healthy and consequently better able to enjoy the Butler University experience.

Alliance is a safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies to come and find community.

The program invites faculty, staff, and students to become active and effective allies to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) community. The goal of the Safe Space program is to provide a more hospitable environment for LGBTQ individuals by establishing an identifiable network of allies who can provide support, information, and serve as allies to LGBTQ individuals within the Butler community. The purpose and goal of this group is to create a network of support and community for LGBTQIA+ individuals at Butler. We will coordinate social events that facilitate supportive relationships, which will make possible (in no particular order): mentorship, solidarity, showcasing member contributions to Butler and beyond, and the sharing of professional and pedagogical development opportunities.

The eight dimensions of Butler’s BUBeWell model are the foundation for a transformative and holistic student experience. Through BUBeWell, we foster a positive environment that helps students grow, learn, and be the best version of themselves. Butler provides students many robust opportunities to develop, both inside and outside of the classroom, through each of the eight dimensions of the BUBeWell model.

A bias incident is an act or behavior motivated by the offender’s bias against facets of another’s identity. These facets may include, but are not limited to: race, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, citizenship status, military status, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or genetic information. Bias occurs whether the act is intentional or unintentional. Bias may be directed toward an individual or group. Bias may contribute to creating an unsafe or unwelcoming environment. All members of the community are encouraged to report incidents of bias they observe or experience.
