Feeling Overwhelmed?

Butler University Libraries strive to curate exhibitions and manage collections with cultural sensitivity.

Content Warning:  The art displayed in this exhibition was made 25 to 30 years ago by people in grief about those they had recently lost.  Due to the nature of the historical materials, there will be occurrences of language, positions, and values that do not align with our current values and practices. It is presented as supplied by the creators of the communal art and the information is retained so as not to censor or alter the historical record and to maintain an understanding of the context of creation.

Trigger Warning: The materials in this exhibition deal with topics of death and dying.  Grief triggers affect everyone: you are not alone. Please take the time and space needed to process emotions as they arise which may include taking a few moments for calming breath, removing yourself from the exhibit, and/or reaching out to a friend or counselor for conversation. It's OK to not be OK; you have support.
