You may want to use images in your presentation. But did you know that most images you find on the internet are protected by copyright and cannot be used in presentations? When someone creates an original work, whether a song, a poem, a photograph or any other type of creative work, Canadian law automatically gives them copyright over their work. This means that no one else is allowed to modify or use their work without the author's permission.
However, there are certain types of copyright licenses that authors can apply to their work to allow others to reuse or modify their work. One of the most common types of licenses that allows reuse is called a Creative Commons license.
