Outside Academics: Exploring the Library for Fun & Personal Enrichment

Listed here are public library resources that can extend your access to books, movies and films, and databases beyond Butler's academic collections.

Welcome!

This LibGuide was created to help direct you to know and use library resources for your personal enrichment. It will point you to resources that Butler Libraries or your local public library has to help with home projects, entertainment reading (books, newspapers, and magazines), and media entertainment (films, music, podcasts). Freely accessible resources beyond the Libraries' collection are also included.  Navigate through this guide using the Tabbed Table of Contents to your left.

Appointments with Librarians

Butler Subject Librarians

Butler Librarians are assigned to the colleges and majors here at Butler; they provide information literacy instruction, build and maintain the collections in their assigned disciplines, and provide additional service support for the students, faculty and staff in their assigned areas.

Use the Find your Librarian page to locate a librarian to address your information need based on the disciplines they cover.  The directory provides email and phone contact information for each librarian, and a way to schedule a Research Consultation, in person or via Zoom, with the librarian.
