Overview

The Slavery in America and the World: History, Culture and Law database offers primary sources in the form of federal papers, constitutions, periodicals, and more. This database would be most useful for GHS, political science, or history majors looking at the legal documentation of slavery and African American relations in the United States.

Expanse of Database

This database contains a vast number of records dealing with the legal aspects of slavery throughout the World. These resources date back to Atlantic transportation of slaves. There are legal documents and periodicals which concern the Civil Rights Movement in the United States as well.

When searching within the databases, keywords and names are the most useful basic search terms. If specific dates, places, or copyrights are known, Advanced Search options would be more useful for sorting the search results.
