EI 101: First-Year Business Experience 2025-26 (all sections)

Research Tips and Resources for EI 101

Exploring Resources on Sustainability, Logistics, & Supply Chain

To develop an idea for a product or service that addresses a logistics issue, start with the same resources you used for your individual research assignment earlier in the semester.  For example:

  • Find information about logistic issues within information regarding a public company's supply chain.
  • Search the corporate website.  Many companies have reports on their websites to describe their processes with logistics.
  • Go to industry trade sites for ideas and use the website's search box to look up keywords.  See trade sites linked below.
  • Two business databases that will let you filter your search results to trade publications are Business Source Elite and One Business. Both are linked below.
  • Statista is another database with reports on issues within the logistics industry.
  • Wall Street Journal:  If you use Google to search for WSJ articles, enter your keyword(s) and then the search operator "site." Example:  logistics industry site:wsj.com

Combine these with keywords that describe concepts within sustainability, logistics, and supply chain managment:

  • Sustainable Logistics
  • Green Logistics
  • Inbound Logistics
  • Outbound Logistics
  • Reverse Logistics
  • Third-Party Logistics
  • Sustainable Sourcing
  • Supply Chain
  • Supply Chain Sustainability
  • Supply Chain Resilience
  • Environmental Impact
  • Resource Allocation
  • Circular Economy
  • Green Manufacturing
